Trophies

Although the trophies of old consisted of metal with a metal or wood base, most trophies today are made from moulds of plastic which is gold, brass or silver coloured. The items are in part made in factories and then assembled by the trophy house. This makes it possible to provide a larger range of awards than in the past. No longer are you limited to metal, plastic, and wood anymore, you can now also get crystal or glass awards with the same prestige as the metal trophies of old.

Instead of the old cup, you can now also get figurines or perhaps an object standing on a base. Whether a wooden base, metal base or marble type base is required we can do it all here at Trophy and Medal Boutique. We uphold the proud history of trophy making by ensuring quality craftsmanship, creativeness and perfect finishing for priceless items that will be displayed with pride and honour.

True to the history of awards, the items are still used for awarding people for outstanding performance and for victory. The name “trophy” in fact comes from the word “tropaion”, which has as root the word “trope”. It is a Greek word that means rout. In ancient Greece the items were awarded to soldiers who defeated the enemy. The items took on the form of figurines or captured arms which would be draped over a tree to resemble the specific warriors. In the old days even ships would be used as trophies. Fortunately today we are able to give somewhat less expensive items to reward the victor in sport with no loss of flair.

Make sure you give rewards that resemble the victory or accomplishment appropriately. View our range of trophies and contact us for a free and reliable quote today.
